Open Board Positions for 2025-2026

Applications due April 14th

  • This person will act as a leader-in-training under the current VP of events to plan activities such as Ice Cream Social, Movie Night, BINGO Night, Donuts with Dudes, and Spring Fling.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Securing vendors

    • Planning concessions

    • Recruiting volunteers

    • Overseeing event set up

    • Attending monthly board meetings as much as possible

  • This person will act as a leader-in-training under the current VP of Fundraising to plan and execute events that raise money to meet the PTA’s yearly budget such as the membership drive, spirit wear, and spirit nights.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Planning packages and outreach for the membership drive at the beginning of the year

    • Recruiting and maintaining a relationship with business sponsors

    • Organizing spirit nights (a chair person can be appointed for this)

    • Meeting with vendor to set up spirit wear store once or twice a year

    • Overseeing holiday shop and book fair (a chair person can be appointed for these)

    • Attending monthly board meetings as much as possible

  • This person will act as a leader-in-training under the current VP of Student Support to organize and run programs that provide enrichment for Kemp’s student population such as after school clubs and grade level events.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Meeting with Fun Clubs representative to organize clubs each semester

    • Facilitate needs of instructors running after school clubs such as attendance rosters and transitions during dismissal

    • Support publication and distribution of the yearbook (run by a chair person)

    • Support the Reflections art competition (run by a chair person)

    • Support various grade level activities such as fifth grade end of year events (run by a chair person)

    • Attending monthly board meetings as much as possible

  • This person will act as a leader-in-training under the current VP of Teacher Support to organize activities that provide for teachers needs and enjoyment.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Organizing various breakfasts or lunches for staff throughout the year, mainly back-to-school, end-of-year, conference week, and Teacher Appreciation week

    • Support ordering and distribution of agendas, binders, folders, and supplies (run by a chair person)

    • Attending monthly board meetings as much as possible

  • This person will act as a Treasurer-in-training under the current Treasurer. You will assist in budgeting for PTA projects and keeping track of income and expenses.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Tracking monthly income and expenses in bookkeeping program.

    • Writing checks and making bank deposits/withdrawals

    • Prepping monthly financial reports for the board and end-of-year audit

    • Filing taxes after end-of-year audit

    • Filing renewals for insurance, business licensing, and incorporation

    • Supporting events where payments are accepted (meet and greet, open house, movie night, spring fling, etc.)

    • Attending monthly board meetings as much as possible

  • This person will act as a Secretary-in-training under the current Secretary. You will assist in recording activities of the PTA for future reference and developing and distributing information and outreach.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Taking attendance and minutes during PTA board meetings and distributing copies to the treasurer for the end-of-year audit

    • gather PTA related information weekly and send to admin for the LLE

    • Assist room parent coordinator in creating monthly PTA newsletter

    • Provide social media coordinator with PTA information and events to post to social media

    • Provide business sponsor information to admin for the marquee and to social media coordinator for social media shout outs

    • Attending monthly board meetings as much as possible

Open Committee Chair Positions for 2025-2026

Applications due April 14th

  • You will work with current Book Fair chair to plan and execute the 2026 book fair. This includes decorating, communicating with book fair vendor on delivery and set up, being available as much as possible for the daily running of the fair, and closing it out at the end. Time commitment includes mid-January through first week in February and is heaviest the week of shopping.

  • You will work with current Holiday Shop chair to plan and execute the 2025 Holiday Shop. This includes decorating, communicating with Holiday Shop vendor on delivery, set up, and restocking, being available as much as possible for the daily running of the shop, and closing it out at the end. Time commitment includes mid-November through mid-December and is heaviest the week of shopping.

  • You will work with current VP of Student Support to coordinate days and locations for after school clubs and keep parents and students updated on club communication. You will also assist with creating club rosters and establishing routines for smooth transitions for club attendees during dismissal. Time commitment is heavy at the beginning of each semester as these routines are established and light during the rest of the year.

  • You will work with local businesses to plan approximately one spirit night or activity per month including things like skate night and restaurant nights. As those events approach, you will send out digital and hardcopy communication encouraging families to participate. Time commitment is medium in July as you communicate with businesses and low throughout the year as you distribute reminders each month.

  • You will meet with vendor to plan spirit wear designs for shirts, sweatshirts, hats, etc. for the upcoming school year. Once spirit wear is printed you work with other volunteers to distribute it to students and staff. Time commitment is heavy in early July as you plan designs with vendor assistance and medium in mid-September as you distribute spirit wear. There is the option of a fall/winter sale in November.

  • You will post PTA information, business sponsor shout outs, and fun recaps and photos from Kemp events on the PTA’s social media pages. This job requires participation on a weekly basis. Time commitment is heavier in August as you plan and schedule business sponsor shout outs and medium through the rest of the year.

  • Currently filled Committee Chairs that you may want to keep in mind for the future include yearbook, Reflections art contest, bulletin board, fifth grade events, and room parent coordinator.
